I was honored to be part of the writing team that launched Netflix Tudum, Netflix’s fan-focused marketing website. It was a genuine thrill to work on lifestyle content at Tudum, where I had the privilege of working with brilliant people; putting together incredibly fun content about style, costumes, books, and even choreography; and interviewing the amazing folks who make movies and shows that are beloved the world over.
Here’s a selection of my favorite stories I got to write — some serious and some delightfully playful:
Fashion:
From Half Corsets to Watch Fobs, Bridgerton Costumes Embody Regency Glamour
Everything to Know About the Bags on Emily in Paris
Brooke Shields Rocks the Rom-Com Killer Dress Trend in A Castle for Christmas
The Secret Meaning Behind Nadia’s Look in Russian Doll
Lifestyle:
How Much Would Anna Delvey’s Last-Minute Ibiza Trip Really Cost?
The Essential Mystery of Marilyn Monroe Reading List
What Does It Take to Buy a Castle in Europe, Like in A Castle for Christmas?
Stories that are just plain fun:
About That Bruno Mathsson Chair in Black Crab…
Do Real Astronomers Dress Like Jennifer Lawrence in Don’t Look Up?
The Story Behind That Britney Spears Dance Sequence in Single All the Way
And now for a bonus story! As some of you might know, I’m from Southwest Missouri originally, and I had the opportunity to interview local TV news celebrity Joe Daues for the area’s lifestyle magazine, 417. It was especially poignant for me because Daues interviewed me for the local news back in 2010, when my book, The Frisky 30-Day Breakup Guide, was published. Here’s the link:

Hope you’re all having a fabulous fall and that you’ve had at least one sip of a pumpkin-spiced latte. Cheers to sweater weather!

In the razzle-dazzle field of media, you never know with whom you might end up working and when. What I know for a fact is that I’m grateful for the supremely talented, kind colleagues I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside lately, both in 2019 and in the New Twenties.

TWA Hotel at JFK Airport, New York City. (BerlinRosen)
Who doesn’t love an unconventional travel story, especially when it involves midcentury architecture? Or is that just me?
In May, I was fortunate enough to write about my first impressions of the newly restored TWA Hotel at New York City’s JFK Airport for Budget Travel.
I’m a huge fan of architect Eero Saarinen’s work — especially his Gateway Arch in St. Louis — so entering the refurbished TWA Flight Center (originally opened in 1962) was a once-in-a-lifetime experience I’ll never forget. Read all about it on Budget Travel’s website or in PDF form here.
This piece reminds me of my other favorite midcentury-focused travel story, Mad Men Travel Destinations, which I wrote back in 2015, in anticipation of Mad Men‘s last seven episodes. (View the PDF here.)
One final thought about the awe-inspiring lobby of the TWA Hotel: As Mad Men‘s Pete Campbell would say, “A thing like that…”
More updates on my other work to come!

Beauty, beauty, ethereal beauty… I’ll admit that there’s a part of my mind that begins to bliss out when I take in the romantic vibe of DuJour Magazine‘s latest cover, featuring beloved Brit Kate Beckinsale.
I reprised my role as Contributing Copy Editor this issue and took on a new mantle: Contributing Miami Editor, which, if you’ve ever scrolled through my Instagram feed, you know is my dream gig.
Read all about my Miami picks below, including an illuminating interview with architect Kobi Karp, early details about the 2019 Miami Open, and preview of a brand-new, exclusive scenting shop that you need an appointment just to visit.

Every year, there are a select few assignments that I feel so lucky to have snagged — and grateful that “writing” exists as a paid gig, period — that I can’t wait to blast out the links to the world.
OK, I made you wait a while on these particular two, but that’s only because I wanted to make the good vibes last longer.
First, my interview for Allure with the incredible Sasha Grey (one of my favorite interview subjects of all time):
Sasha Grey on How Her Signature Makeup Has Shaped Her Extensive Career (You’re gonna want to take notes on that classic, beautiful cat eye, people.)
Last but not least, it was such a privilege to sit down for Allure with some of the most talented women on Broadway and get their behind-the-scenes tips for how to harness your makeup’s staying power, achieve maximum pigmentation, and make it all look as effortless as they do, day in and day out:
