Breakups are hard no matter how you slice them, even if you were the heartbreaker or your split was as amicable as a handshake. I think that after every breakup, one vivid memory sticks with you just like early recollections from childhood do. I wrote about one of my most searing post-breakup moments for Crushable.com here: Unpacking Your Post-Breakup Baggage is Hard to Do. (I love that they used a picture of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe to illustrate the story.)

While we’re on the subject of breakups, I can’t wait for my book, THE FRISKY 30-DAY BREAKUP GUIDE, to come out next month! I saw an advance review copy, and it looks great — the cover is vivid pink, glossy, and gorgeous. Stay tuned for more details and updates….

My CNN.com debut
March 17, 2010

This has to bode well, luck-wise: My most recent story for TheFrisky.com, “Does ‘Lucky in Love’ Really Exist?” is on CNN.com today, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day. Check it out here! (And scroll down to see me inevitably get skinned alive by the commenters.)

It depends on who you talk to. For my newest story at TheFrisky.com, I chatted with a slew of experts on luck (including two psychics and a poker player) about their take on whether the L-word really affects our love lives. Check out what they said here!

I’m officially shouting it from the rooftops (or…pile of html code…or something…): My book, The Frisky 30-Day Breakup Guide, is now available for pre-order on Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com!

It’s still all so surreal…in the best way ever. Now, if I may get a little cheesy on you, I know I’m not the Breakup Fairy who takes away all the relationship hurt and leaves a shiny half-dollar in its place, but I can’t wait to put this book in the hands of women everywhere who are going through one of those heavy, emotional, all-consuming breakups that are so hard for anyone else to understand. We all need a life preserver in those situations, and this little pink book will help…even if it’s just a little bit. Midwestern girl’s honor.

Check out my latest story, about vitamin waters and their (bogus?) claims, in this month’s Men’s Journal.
