Can we talk about how psyched I am about my recent stories for Budget Travel—both the digital magazine and the website?

Check out these three beauties for the magazine—they were my passion projects:

Along with the magazine longreads up top, I’ve been knocking out some other super-fun web content. Here are a few of my favorite stories, slideshows, and blog posts:

Lots more to come! Can’t wait to share the rest with you once they go live…

Happy spring, everyone! In between my usual writing and editing duties for Budget Travel magazine and BudgetTravel.com, I’ve been honing my on-camera skills by representing BT on the Weather Channel’s morning show, AMHQ.

Check out some of my recent live appearances below—a few of them with none other than Sam Champion himself!

And another one…

OK, one more…

And one more?

Sometimes the journalism gods smile down upon me, and I get to write such a fun, cool piece it doesn’t feel like work at all. That has applied to many of the stories I’ve written while working full time at Budget Travel, but this freelance story was special.

Please check out the cover of the Feb. 8 Boston Globe Magazine, below, and read my piece, 8 New Nonstop Flights from Logan: Which Will You Try?

When I saw the cover for the first time—specifically that gorgeous, confident woman pedaling to the beach while carrying a surfboard, telegraphing exactly that feeling of being free and untethered that embodies why we travel—my elation was indescribable. It wasn’t pride, per se, nor disbelief…just happiness. I hope you feel even a tenth of that while you’re reading the piece.

I couldn’t be more excited for this new step in my career: After freelancing for the magazine and website for two years, I recently accepted a full-time senior editor position at Budget Travel, and I am loving every minute of my new job. Especially when I get to write things like this:

Shocking Celebrity Travel Incidents and How NOT to Make Their Mistakes!

I’m not saying Kanye West is on the list…but I’m not saying he’s not, either…

This was another fun one:

How to Negotiate More Vacation Time (Plus the One Thing You Should NEVER Say!)

Because don’t we all deserve a wee bit more time to travel? I certainly think so.

Stay tuned — there’s much more fun stuff to come!

I write often for SheKnows.com, and it just occurred to me that I haven’t posted many of my recent pieces for them here. Here are a few lurrrve-and-relationships pieces I’ve written in the past few months:

So You Want to Date a DILF… — I like to think of this piece as an ode to David Beckham — actually, more like Ryan Gosling, in light of recent events.

Does Satisfaction Predict the Future of Relationships? — Did I work a Richard Yates reference into a sponsored-content post? Yes. Yes, I did.

Geek Appeal Is the New Sexy — A very lighthearted, tongue-in-cheek look at why male tech nerds are so hot right now (featuring commentary from the legendary John Gray, Ph.D., author of Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus!).

And because you’ve diligently read to the end of this post, here’s your reward: the truly fun stuff. (P.S. I am in love with these illos, by Amy Berlak.):

Put Your Sex Life in Overdrive: Sex Positions for the Car

Get Rubbed in the Tub: Sex Positions for the Shower

Enjoy — safely!
